Chance to Compete in Science and Engineering Festival PDF Print E-mail
The country’s first national science festival will descend on Washington, D.C. in October 2010. National contest opportunities are open to students now and include producing a video on why science is cool, solving a Rubik's cube tournament, and designing a sustainable dream house. Deadlines vary, but most are in September.

The Inaugural USA Science and Engineering Festival, hosted by Lockheed Martin, promises to be the ultimate multi-cultural, multi-generational and multi-disciplinary celebration of science in the United States. The culmination of the Festival will be a two-day Expo in the nation’s capital that will give over 500 science & engineering organizations from all over the United States the opportunity to present themselves with a hands-on, fun science activity to inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers.

The contests are open to middle and high school students, including homeschoolers. For contests and festival details, go to http://www.usasciencefestival.org.

The festival will be held October 10-23 and the expo will be held on the National Mall October 23-24. If you can't participate in the competitions, plan to attend the expo or festival!
